Opelika man arrested for identity theft

Auburn, Ala. - On April 16, 2024, Auburn Police, with assistance from the Opelika Police Department, arrested Dallas Ray Grigsby, age 34, from Opelika, AL, on a felony warrant charging him with identity theft.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police receiving a report pertaining to mail stolen from a business near the 2200 block of Riley Street on April 16. Police met with a complainant that reported that mail delivered to the business between the dates of April 6 and April 9 was stolen. A credit card was among the items taken during the theft.

On April 15, 2024, Opelika Police Department officers contacted Dallas Ray Grigsby, in possession of the stolen credit card. After further investigation, Auburn Police obtained an arrest warrant charging Grigsby with identity theft.

Grigsby was arrested in obedience to the warrant on April 16 and held at the Lee County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
